Man found dead at Kuskokwim fish camp
AKIAK -- A 59-year-old man was found dead at a fish camp near the Kuskokwim River village of Akiak, Alaska State Troopers said Thursday.
Adam Japhet of Akiak apparently died of hypothermia, troopers said. Japhet was intoxicated when a relative dropped him off at the fish camp about 8:30 p.m. Monday, troopers said. The fish camp is three miles south of Akiak.
A family member went to the camp shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday to pick Japhet up, but found him dead. Troopers said Japhet's clothes were wet and it appeared he had tried to light a stove but failed.
